13:47 | Frankfurt (Germany), May. 23.

Peru took part at IMEX, the landmark exhibition for professionals working within the incentive travel, meetings and events industry—held in Frankfurt am Main on May 16-18.

The Consulate of Peru based in such city welcomed the Inca delegation and gave a brief presentation on the German tourists' profile, mainly of those from Hesse.

The presentation also addressed Frankfurt airport's importance not only to Germany, but as an international hub for connecting flights from around the world, as well as its appeal as air freight depot.

Likewise, May 17 saw the launch of "Peru als MICE-Destination" (Peru as MICE-Destination) and a dinner at Peruvian eatery "La Cevi."

Held by Peru's Trade Office in Hamburg (OCEX Hamburg), the exhibition featured Peruvian speakers, as well as German tour operators and event organizers.

The activity promoted the building of contacts between companies in the two nations.

IMEX in Frankfurt is the efficient, one-stop-shop for planners looking to book and organize worldwide meetings, events and incentive travel programs.

Some 3,500 exhibitors are gathered each year (including tourist boards, convention bureaus, international hotel chains, airlines and destination management companies).

They are poised to do business with the 9,000 visitors (including almost 4,000 hosted buyers) who attend during three days.
