Peru posts one of the highest GDP growth rates in the world, registering in 2012 the biggest economic growth in the last ten years, Chief Economist of BBVA Research in Peru, Hugo Pera said.
Pera noted that Peru climbed 6.3% in 2012 and the increase showed in January 2013 raised the forecast for 2013 from 5.6 to 6.5%, surpassing the global average growth rate of 3.6%.

He also stated that Peru has one of the fastest economic growth rates in the world, placing among the most dynamic countries like China, which is expected to grow 8% this year.

Peru's contribution to world's economic growth would be as high as Italy's, if it continues growing 6% in the next decade, the economist said.
