King Felipe VI of the Kingdom of Spain received credential letters of Jose Antonio Garcia Belaunde, Peruvian Ambassador to Spain, during a ceremony held at the Royal Palace of Madrid.

Garcia Belaunde was named Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru to the Kingdom of Spain in September 2016, replacing Mr. Rafael Roncagliolo.

The career diplomat has served as Peru's Minister of Foreign Affairs and co-agent before the International Court of Justice at The Hague in the process to resolve the maritime dispute with Chile.

In addition to Garcia Belaunde, the credentials presentation ceremony featured ambassadors from Poland, Nicaragua, Bulgaria, Vietnam and India.
