Peruvian Ambassador Maria Eugenia Echeverria presented credential letters to Croatian President Kolinda Grabar-Kitarovic, the Andean country's Foreign Affairs Ministry reported.

Such credentials recognized the appointment of Echeverria as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Peru to said European country.

The ceremony took place at the Presidential Palace in Zagreb on December 18.

During the meeting, President Grabar-Kitarovic expressed her willingness to strengthen friendship ties binding both nations.

Likewise, both personalities underscored considerable progress has been made in the bilateral relationship through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between both nations' Chambers of Commerce, the increase in bilateral trade flows, and the creation of Friendship Groups at the two Parliaments.

It must be noted these actions join a series of agreements boosting cooperation in defense and police fields, thus enabling legal assistance in criminal matters.

It must be noted Echeverria concurrently serves as Ambassador to Romania and Bosnia and Herzegovina
