Peru's Air Force (FAP) has recently transported 4,000 blankets to southern Cusco region with the purpose of protecting locals from cold temperatures.
The shipment is part of "Alas de Esperanza" (
Wings of Hope III) disaster-prevention operation.
Said aid was stored in Peru's State-run National Civil Defense Institute (Indeci) warehouses.
The initiative also includes Puno, Arequipa and Tacna regions.
Relief measures are comprised in the government's 2017 "Antes Peru" (
Peru Ahead) Multisectoral Mitigation Plan.
