Pacific Alliance Presidents express solidarity after terrorist attacks in Colombia

Presidents of Chile, Mexico and Peru condemned the terrorist attacks occurred Thursday afternoon in Bogota, Colombia, and expressed solidarity with the victims and people of their neighboring nation.

“I want to reaffirm our solidarity with the Colombian people who are suffering from the attacks,” President Humala said in brief remarks to the local and international media covering the Pacific Alliance Summit.

Chilean President Michelle Bachelet also expressed her commendation and solidarity with Colombian nationals.

Meanwhile, Mexico’s Enrique Peña Nieto offered his support to the Colombian government and people in their efforts to bring peace to the country and banish violence.

According to local media, two explosions occurred in the Colombian capital on Thursday afternoon, injuring at least seven people.

President Juan Manuel Santos left for his home country last night at 23:20 local time to handle the emergency situation caused by the said attacks.

He headed to Pisco’s Air Base right after the opening of the 10th Presidential Summit of the Pacific Alliance.
