Olympic Museum of Peruvian Sport opens in Lima

The Olympic Museum of Peruvian Sport was inaugurated on Thursday, April 25, in the presence of government authorities and former Olympic athletes.

The museum, located in Peru's National Stadium in Lima, is a place that honors the history of world sport.

It features a photo gallery, posters of the Olympic Games, medals, badges and artefacts from the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The opening ceremony included a book OLIMPICA written by the Peruvian journalist Patrick Espejo, which provided a summary of the history of the Olympics Games.

The ceremony was attended by Peruvian Prime Minister Juan Jimenez, IOC President Jacques Rogge and the leading figures of Peruvian sport among which highlighted the presence of congresswomen and ex-volleyball players Leyla Chihuan, Cecilia Tait and Cenaida Uribe.
