President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski’s visit to Colombia has been made official, so it is a fact he will be witnessing the signing of the long-awaited peace agreement between the Colombian government and the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).

Prime Minister Fernando Zavala endorsed a legislative resolution passed by Congress Chairwoman Luz Salgado authorizing his Sept. 25-26 journey to the neighboring nation.

Foreign Affairs Minister Ricardo Luna will join the trip, so Justice Minister Marisol Perez Tello will take over his duties while he is abroad.

The 77-year-old leader will embark on his second foreign trip given the positive impact the Colombia-FARC agreement will have on peace and security across the region.

International community leaders are expected to convene in Cartagena to take part in the landmark ceremony.
