In this sense, Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister Eduardo Ferreyros highlighted the record sum beat expectations by 32%.
The official also underlined results obtained through the "Superfoods Peru" campaign, the country's new public-private initiative to further advertise the quality, variety and benefits of the country's food offer.
The Inca nation's most sought-after products at Fruit Logistica 2017 were avocados, pomegranates, blueberries and grapes.
As for new products, pineapples, ginger and turmeric stood out.
"The launching of the Superfoods Peru brand boosted Peruvian sales. Given the new trends among consumers and their concern for a healthier lifestyle, superfoods have reached the main food markets and fairs worldwide," Ferreyros stressed.
As is known, the Peruvian delegation at Fruit Logistica was composed of 330 businessmen who showcased the country's exportable offer with various promotion activities, such as cooking and tasting sessions, as well as musical performances.
During the 3-day event (February 8-10), the Peruvian stand was visited by over 6,100 international buyers.
It must be noted the world's main food fair gathered 3,100 exhibitors from 86 countries, as well as over 70,000 buyers and trade visitors from over 130 nations.
"We can highlight the presence of buyers from Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, France, Russia, Italy, the United Kingdom, India and China, who approached the Peruvian pavilion with high expectations," he revealed.
Northern Piura and Tumbes regions' organic banana producers established trade relations that led to business expectations worth close to US$30 million.
On the other hand, pineapple producers also drew the interest of international buyers, whereas organic ginger and turmeric exporters managed to trade 15 and 6 containers each, respectively.
"Trade relations were possible thanks to the Agriculture and Irrigation Ministry delegation, which has been supporting agricultural organizations," the Minister pointed out.
