Los atractivos arqueológicos, entre ellos la ciudadela de Machu Picchu, y paisajísticos de la región del Cusco recibieron 3 millones 53,279 turistas nacionales y extranjeros durante el 2016, informó la Dirección Regional de Comercio Exterior y Turismo (Dircertur).
The total expenditure made by foreign tourists in Peru stood at US$825 million in the first quarter of 2017, up 1% (US$7 million) from the same period the year before, Central Reserve Bank (BCR) reported on Wednesday.
According to the bank, foreign tourists' travel expenses accounted for nearly half (44%) of the country's services exports.
This segment includes other expenses in insurance and reinsurance (24%), transportation (19%), communications (1%), and other services (11%) sectors.
