EU extends Independence Day greetings to Peru

A European Union's delegation greeted Peruvians on twitter on the occasion of the 193rd anniversary of the South American country’s independence from the Spanish Empire.
San Martin proclaimed Peru's independence on July 28, 1821 in Huacho city, located north of Lima.

National holidays officially consist of two days: July 28, in commemoration of Peru's independence; and July 29, in honor of the Armed Forces and the National Police of Peru.

As part of the traditions, Peruvian President addresses the nation in a live televised speech delivered on July 28 at the Congress venue.
