Datum poll: Fujimori has 52.9% support against 47.1% for PPK

Fuerza Social presidential candidate Keiko Fujimori has garnered 52.9% of valid votes, against 47.1% for Peruanos por el Kambio leader Pedro Pablo Kuczynski, according to a new poll conducted by Datum ahead of Peru’s runoff.

Published by Peru21 and Gestion local newspapers, the investigation also considers votes cast, a scenario in which the Fujimorismo leader got 45.6% support and former Finance Minister 40.7%.

The survey states that 9.0% of respondents would cast blank and 4.7% will opt for an invalid vote. On the other hand, 2.7% of voters did not express their support for any candidate.

Both candidates are tied in a dead heat (49.5% for Fujimori and 50.5% for Kuczynski) in Lima.

The daughter of jailed former President Alberto Fujimori takes the lead in northern, central and eastern regions, whereas PPK’s largest area of support is in the South with 62.8% against 37.2% for Fujimori.

As for the intention of vote, the survey puts Fujimori ahead of Kuczynski by 5.3 percentage points (45.1 % against 39.8 %).

On the other hand, most respondents believe Fujimori won the May 22 debate held in Piura.
