Dakar's organizer Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) has already published the complete 2018 edition's route, passing through six Peruvian cities.

Those regions are Lima, Ica, Huancavelica, Ayacucho, Arequipa and Puno.

As is known, the Andean country has been chosen as the starting point of the world's hardest and most grueling race.

The grand start will take place in Lima on January 6. From there, competitors will drive to Pisco city (Ica region).

On the following day, the stage will comprise a tour going through Huancavelica to —once again— end in Pisco.

On January 8, drivers will travel to San Juan de Marcona (Ica). There, they will begin a route crossing through Ayacucho and later return to the same departing point.

On January 10, participating vehicles will head from San Juan de Marcona to Arequipa.

Lastly, contestants will leave Peruvian soil by traveling through Puno, thus reaching La Paz (Bolivia) on January 11. There, they will have a rest day.

The race will continue passing through other Bolivian and Argentinean cities. It must be noted the event's finish line will be located in Cordoba (Argentina).

The 40th edition is scheduled to run until January 20. It will comprise many stages to be raced against the clock. Registration begins on May 15.

The Dakar Rally 2018 will host 750 competitors, among them 40 Peruvian representatives.
