According to the President of the National Chamber of Tourism (Canatur), Jorge Jochamowitz, the international tourism campaign “Peru, Pais de Tesoros Escondidos” (Peru, Hidden Treasures Country) will enable tourism to grow up to 7% this year.

The campaign, introduced by Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry in the 35th International Tourism Trade Fair (Fitur) currently held in Spain, intends to boost tourism in Peru.

“Tourism will grow between 5% – 7% this year, taking into consideration the campaign’s impact will be registered starting the year’s second half […]” he told Andina news agency.

Likewise, in this context the generation of foreign exchange would grow between 4 – 5% in 2015, he calculated. The expansion is similar to what was registered in 2014.
