The Government of Bolivia has sent a military aircraft carrying humanitarian aid for victims of heavy rains and flooding in Peru, the hosting nation's Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported.

The arriving batch included 31 water storage tanks with capacities of 5,000 and 10,000 liters, as well as 8,000 liters of bottled water.

Led by its Deputy Civil Defense Minister Oscar Cabrera, the Bolivian crew was welcomed by Peruvian Foreign Affairs Minister Ricardo Luna upon arrival in the nation's capital.

Bolivia's President Evo Morales has also arranged for further aid to be sent if needed, Bolivian Defense Minister Reymi Ferreira affirmed on Thursday morning.

Ferreira underlined his homeland remembers "the generous assistance" Peru gave Bolivia in 2006 and 2007, when the fellow neighboring nation was also lashed by flooding.

Thank you, Bolivia

Peruvian President Pedro Pablo Kuczynski expressed his gratitude to the fellow Andean nation for its solidarity towards disaster victims.

The Head of State highlighted the aid received from the Bolivian brother nation, via Twitter.
