In the first quarter of the year, Peru's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) may have expanded by 4.5%, invigorated by performances of services and energy sectors, Central Reserve Bank (BCR) Governor Julio Velarde projected on Friday.
"According to our estimates the economy may have increased 4.1% last March. A 4.5% expansion would have been reached by the end of the first quarter," the official expressed.
"We have few elements, but we rely on some electric energy-related information […]," he added.
Despite the current unfavorable international situation, Peru's GDP may have grown by over 4% in the first quarter, Finance Minister Alonso Segura estimated on Thursday.
