The Andean Community (CAN) chancellors and ministers of Foreign Trade meet Sunday in Lima to evaluate a “re-engineering” of the Andean group to strengthen the sub-regional integration process.
The meeting takes place at the headquarters of the Andean Community, located in Lima.

The Andean Pact comprises Peru, Ecuador, Bolivia and Colombia.

The meeting, which began at 10:30 hours, is attended by foreign ministers of Colombia, Maria Angela Holguin; Ecuador, Ricardo Patiño; Peru, Eda Rivas and Bolivia, David Choquehuanca.

CAN Ministers of Foreign Trade and Secretary General James Cembrano also attend the meeting, which is expected to finish at 17:00 hours.

In the meetings held in Lima and Bogota in July and November 2011, respectively, the Andean Presidential Council agreed to strengthen and renew the integration process of the Andean Community countries.

The CAN, founded on May 26, 1969, with the signing of the Cartagena Agreement, aims to achieve a comprehensive and balanced development through an integration process.
