The Ministry of Foreign Affairs today appointed Ambassador Julio Eduardo Martinetti Macedo as new Deputy Foreign Affairs Minister of the Republic of Peru, in replacement of Claudio de La Puente Ribeyro.
The appointment process was run in accordance with the Supreme Resolution No. 073-2015-RE, published Thursday in the official gazette El Peruano.
The document was inked by Peruvian President Ollanta Humala and Foreign Affairs Minister Ana Maria Sanchez de Rios.
The organizational structure of the ministry includes the Minister, Deputy Minister and Secretary General.
According to Law No. 29357, the Deputy Minister is an Ambassador in the diplomatic service and is in charge of formulating, coordinating, executing and monitoring the State’s general policy on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
