As part of her participation at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Peruvian Prime Minister Mercedes Araoz managed to consolidate agreements to improve working conditions for Peruvian women, Internet access across the country and integrity in infrastructure development.
In a Twitter video address, the government official said she had taken part in eight high-level meetings as a speaker, as well as 19 bilateral work meetings with leaders and entrepreneurs to attract private investment to Peru.
"It's been
4 days of highly intense work here in Davos, but I return to Peru very glad to have reached three major agreements that will improve working conditions for Peruvian women,
Internet access in the country and integrity in infrastructure development," Araoz affirmed.
Regarding Peruvian women, the Cabinet Chief underlined the Inca country is working on gender parity along with the WEF and the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
"So that —in partnership with the private sector— we can build programs to achieve better salaries for women, allowing for higher female participation in the workforce and in productive activities," she explained.
The Prime Minister also addressed "
Internet for All," a global project to foster digitalization among companies and to increase Internet access across countries.
As for integrity in infrastructure development, the Prime Minister noted the initiative would be applied to both public works and public-private partnerships.
"I believe that these are topics we can take to Peru as a development agenda based on our participation at the World Economic Forum," Araoz concluded.
