Within the framework of the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP21), the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the WBG/IMF allowed to raise an additional US$15.00 billion for climate funding in the framework of the COP21 to be held in Paris in November.
According to a report by the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) by 2014 nearly US$62.00 billion was channeled to achieve climate-related goals.
"This, added to the US$15.00 billion, will increase the collected amount to US$77.00 billion. The objective is to reach US$100.00 billion by 2020. With this, we would be achieving that," Peru’s Finance Minister Alonso Segura underlined.

On the other hand, the Finance Minister highlighted the fact that environmental commitment and financing to stop global warming were discussed at the WBG/IMF Meetings.
"We have to remind Peru still holds the COP20 Presidency and France, which is to host the COP21, will assume this post not before November. In this regard, Peru has played a very significant leading role throughout last year," Segura expressed.
