World Bank Group (WBG) President Jim Yong Kim highlighted Peru's achievements registered in poverty and equality reduction over the last decade, which he considered "outstanding."

Thus, the WBG top officer suggested other nations to follow Peru’s model.

On the other hand, Jim said the world’s objective, aimed at abolishing extreme poverty by 2030, will not be an easy task and requires other countries to make hard decisions along with higher aspirations.

Despite the great difficulty, the WBG is confident the goals will be accomplished before the established deadline, he noted.

Jim made statements during his participation in the “Today to 2030,” event held within the framework of the Annual Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
