According to wbanews.com, 'Dinamite' Malpartida fulfilled the promise she made during a press conference before the fight, when she said that "the title stays at home."
"Kina practically dominated the whole bout, which had to be stopped by referee Gustavo Padilla at 1:33 of the sixth round," the WBA said on its website.
The organization underlined that this was the fifth defense of the title Malpartida won via TKO 10 over Maureen Shea in 2009. The 32-year-old Peruvian has raised her record to 14-3 and 4 KOs.
On another positive note, WBA also highlighted Peruvian Jonathan Maicelo's unanimous decision victory over Fernando Angulo of Ecuador to win the vacant WBA lightweight Fedecentro title.
