U.S. Ambassador to Peru Brian A. Nichols wished Peruvian soccer team "good luck and victory" in the match to be played against Argentina this afternoon.
Joined by the United States Embassy staff, Nichols made a video encouraging the Incas at this crucial stage.
The said video was posted Thursday on the embassy's official
Facebook page.
"Your friends from the United States Embassy in Lima wish you luck and victory in the coming match, go Peru!" said the diplomat along with Peruvian supporters wearing the national team jersey.
It must be noted this game constitutes one of the last chances for the "Albicelestes" (sky blue and whites) to directly qualify for Russia 2018 World Cup.

match will be held today at 8:30 PM local time (6:30 PM in Peru) in Buenos Aires.
