Systems Engineering students from Universidad Nacional de Cajamarca will represent Peru at the World Robot Olympiad Qatar 2015 — to be held next month in Doha, Qatar — as they took first place at the National Robot Olympiad.

David Paredes Humberto Sandoval and Kevin Puscan created Uniecibot, a robot with which they won the national championship — organized by Von Braum institute in Lima.

The second and third places were grabbed by Mechatronics Engineering and Electronic Engineering students from Universidad Nacional de Ingenieria (UNI).

Cajamarca-based university rector Roberto Mosqueira congratulated the students for their effort and dedication as they held the highest place among students from all over the country.

“Here at the university, we are proud to have achieved first place at the robot Olympiad. It is a result of the effort and hard work, which is a model to follow,” the rector claimed as he said the university will fully support them.
