Haitian citizens got a taste of Peruvian cuisine over the weekend, after Peruvian UN peacekeepers shared their recipes during a food workshop.

The workshop was aimed at teaching Haitian men and women about Peruvian cuisine and giving them the tools for preparing a balanced meal, based on local resources.

Those who participated in the workshop received a certificate, and enjoyed a tasting of Peruvian food prepared by Haitian women, under the supervision of Peruvian instructors.

Meanwhile, the “Peru Funny Times”, a comedy troupe made up by members of the peacekeeping force, entertained Haitian children.

The Peruvian peacekeepers also delivered food and medical donations to ‘Oeuvres de dieu pour les enfants demunis’, a local orphanage, that houses 50 children, Peruthisweek.com reported, citing an article from Andina.
