U.K. energy firms to explore business opportunities in Peru

A delegation of Britain’s energy firms is expected to visit Peru on a four-day trade mission beginning on September 26, the British Embassy in the Peruvian capital Lima has reported.

The business event will take place as part of the embassy’s ongoing efforts aimed at strengthening and deepening commercial and trading relations between the United Kingdom and Peru.

The upcoming trade mission is an example of the great deal of interest of British companies for entering and investing in the Peruvian market, a statement from the embassy which was put out Thursday said.

“The Peruvian market is attractive not only for remarkable growth rates, but also for the great variety and quantity of projects which can be developed,” the statement reads.

The delegation will include high-level executives from Brush Electrical Machines, William Hare, NSW Technology - General Cable, Hydrobolt Group Holdings, Cummins, Special Metal Wiggin (a company of PCC Energy Company) and Swire Oilfield Services. 

During their visit to the Andean nation, the mission is set to meet with leading enterprises engaged in Peru’s oil and gas and energy sectors such as Graña y Montero Oil, Repsol, Sap, Odebrecht Peru Ingenería, among others. 

The trade event is organized by the UK Trade & Investment office (UKTI), the British Embassy in Peru, and the Energy Industries Council (EIC), the leading trade association for UK companies that supply goods and services to the energy industries worldwide.
