Peruvian Ambassador to India, Javier Paulinich, expressed his concern about the uncertain situation of two Peruvian journalists who traveled to quake-hit Nepal in order to shoot a documentary in the Himalayas.

The diplomat assured he is trying to communicate with the Honorary Consul in Katmandu, Nepal, to find out what happened to Segundo Seminario and Carlos Augusto Vera, journalists at Latina, a Peruvian TV channel.

“They were filming a documentary on the mountain and so far we have no news of them. We have asked India’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs to help us find them,” Paulinich told RPP.

Nepal is in chaos; the 7.9-magnitute earthquake has devastated the country. Local authorities confirmed that more than 1,400 people have died so far.

“It is said over 1,500 people have died and the death toll continues to rise,” he said from New Delhi, capital of India.

It should be noted not many Peruvians live in Nepal.
