The Trade Facilitation Agreement on Technical Barriers was put on the Peru-Ecuador bilateral agenda, and it is designed to enable Peruvian products to enter the neighboring nation in the short term, reported Peru’s Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur).

The aforementioned deal was signed in early October by Mincetur’s head, Magali Silva, along with other Ecuadorian government officials.

Silva announced that such an agreement has been included in the bilateral agenda agreed by presidents Ollanta Humala and Rafael Correa on the sideline of the Presidential Meeting and Eighth Binational Cabinet.

On the other hand, Peru’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade, Edgar Vásques, claimed this accord will ease the entry of a number of different products into the Ecuadorian market in the short term.

“The trade facilitation agreement will help remove many barriers for the entry of Peruvian products to Ecuador, such as those for domestic hygiene, as well as metal mechanical and plastic goods.
