A total of 12 Peruvian companies, which participated in the international fashion trade show Intermoda 2012, held on July 17-20 Guadalajara, Mexico, would close business worth US$1.8 million in the next 12 months, Peru's Export and Promotion Board said Wednesday.
Peruvian companies attended this trade show, which is one of the most important events of the fashion industry in Mexico, to expand their markets and take the advantage of the Free Trade Agreement between Peru and Mexico.
Promperu explained that the Peruvian entrepreneurs participated with international companies from China, Colombia, Argentina, Pakistan and Spain.
Peru showcased alpaca and cotton clothes, such as t-shirts, sweaters, pajamas, shirts, children's clothing and accessories.
The purpose of the first participation of Peru in Intermoda is to promote textile sector and the country as a clothing supplier of high quality materials in Mexico.
