Tenth Pacific Alliance Summit begins tomorrow in Paracas

The 10th Presidential Summit of the Pacific Alliance comprising Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru will start on Wednesday, July 1st, in the presence of heads of state of the economic trade bloc and representatives of 32 observer states and international organizations.

The event, due to run through July 3, will kick off with a two-day High Level Group (GAN) meeting bringing together Deputy Ministers of Foreign Trade and Foreign Affairs from the four countries.

The high-ranking officials will discuss the progress made by technical groups, study new integration proposals and offer a complete assessment of the process status in order to define the new presidential mandates.

The Pacific Alliance Council of Ministers will take place on Wednesday with the participation of 32 observer states, the Development Bank of Latin America (CAF), the European Union (EU), the Inter-American Bank of Development (IABD) and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

The “CEO Leadership Conference: CEO Summit of the Pacific Alliance – Leading growth” will be held in parallel with the Summit. It will bring together leaders of business and government of Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.

The meeting will address topics such as the Pacific Alliance progress and perspectives; innovation as value creation tool; challenges to improve economic and social competiveness and; the businessmen’s role in the Pacific Alliance economic growth leadership, education and competiveness.

The business forum will wrap up at 18:30 local time (23:30 GMT) with a panel discussion featuring the four Pacific Alliance Presidents.
