Superfoods Peru arrive in South Korea

00:11 | Seoul (South Korea), May. 17.

As part of its quest to conquer international markets, Superfoods Peru has now arrived in South Korea, where the Inca nation launched the campaign within the framework of Seoul Food & Hotel 2017.

Seoul Food & Hotel is one of Asia's main food and hospitality industry fairs.

The four-day event (May 16-19) gathers over 50 countries, providing participating companies with an opportunity to meet with key importers, distributors and industry buyers from retail, catering and the hospitality trade across the whole of South Korea.

In this context, the national delegation featured 20 companies offering nutrient-rich sacha Inchi, lucuma, camu camu, asparagus, aguaymanto (golden berry), among others.

Superfoods Peru's launch in South Korea included a presentation on the products' benefits and diversity, which includes more than 30 varieties of grains, fruits, vegetables and fish.

Peruvian participation was possible thanks to Peru's Embassy in Seoul, Trade Office in Seoul (Ocex Seoul) and the Association of Peruvian Exporters (ADEX).

Superfoods Peru

Launched last February, "Superfoods Peru" is a public-private initiative to further advertise the quality, variety and benefits of the country's food offer.

The campaign promotes the following health boosters: quinoa, kiwicha, canihua, maca, yacon, chestnuts, carob tree, sacha inchi, Cusco's giant corn, purple corn, camu camu berries, cherimoya, soursop, lucuma, mangoes, grapes, tangerines and anchovies.

Well-known blueberries, asparagus, broccoli, avocados, pomegranates, cacao, and chocolates are also included.

It is worth noting the Inca nation enjoys a privileged status among global superfood producers thanks to its biodiversity, export capacity, as well as traceability and innovation through sustainable, transparent process chains.
