Brazilian soccer star Ronaldinho Gaúcho arrived in Peru on Friday morning to defend Cusco's team Cienciano during a friendly match taking place this Sunday.
The athlete arrived at Jorge Chavez International Airport and took a plane on route to the Southern city.
On Sunday, the former World Cup champion will finally wear the local squad's jersey to play against Lima's Sporting Cristal.
Months ago, team manager Sergio Ludeña travelled to Rio de Janeiro, where he engaged in talks with Dinho.
The striker agreed to come to Peru, after the entrepreneur explained him the current situation of the club, which in the past claimed the South American Cup (2003) and the South American Recup (2004).
Cienciano is currently relegated from the first league. Thus, the match comprises a campaign aimed to support the team's return into first division.
"He wants to connect with Peruvian culture, and learn about Cusco traditions. He told me that we would like to explore Machu Picchu," Ludeña expressed in the past.
