Qatar will participate in the first meeting of Health Ministers of South American and Arab (ASPA) countries to be held in Peru next month.
The meeting will take place in the Peruvian capital of Lima from April 2 to 4 under the slogan of "universal health care and social determinants."
The Qatari delegation will be headed by Assistant Secretary-General for Medical Affairs of the Supreme Council of Health (SCH) Dr. Saleh bin Ali Al Marri.
The meeting will discuss a number of important topics notably health systems, disease control, prevention and preparedness as well as response to cases of humanitarian aid, QNA reported.
The meeting aims to contribute to promoting integration between the South American and Arab countries in the health sector through the implementation of the Plan of Action adopted by the Third Summit of South American and Arab countries (ASPA), which was held in Lima in October 2012.
