Peru’s Environment Minister Manuel Pulgar-Vidal today said Cabinet Chief Pedro Cateriano will present a solid government plan for the benefit of the country, so he is hopeful a confidence vote will be granted.

“I think the Cabinet will give a good speech; I do so taking into consideration the plan Premier Cateriano will put forward. The program is solid and is designed to benefit the country,” he told Andina news agency.

Peru’s Prime Minister Pedro Cateriano together with his Cabinet ministers will speak before the Congress on Monday April 27 to explain the government’s general policy and the main actions his administration will take.

After the presentation and follow-up debate, the President of the Council of Ministers will ask the Congress for a vote of confidence in the name of all the Cabinet.

After he was sworn in as Cabinet Chief on April 2, Cateriano embarked on a series of talks with other political forces to get agreement and support for such vote at the Congress.

Pulgar-Vidal said the dialogue held between the Executive Branch and various political forces in the Congress has to continue to reach the consensus that will lead the country into development and social peace.
