Presidential candidates meet in Lima on second day of anti-corruption conference

Presidential candidates Veronika Mendoza, Hernando Guerra Garcia, Fernando Olivera, Miguel Hilario and Julio Guzman will attend today the 2016 VI International Anti-Corruption Conference (CAAI) held in Lima by the Peru Comptroller General's Office.

Speakers will turn up at 3 p.m. (local time) to present their anti-corruption plans and the way these will be implemented, on the second day of the conference convened under the theme: Anti-corruption Political Agenda for 2021.

The Tuesday event gathered Keiko Fujimori, Antero Flores-Araoz, Renzo Reggiardo, Felipe Castillo and Daniel Urresti.

Those running for President should include three criteria in their presentation: i) vision, mission and anti-corruption policy, ii) strategy and goals for prevention, detection and effective punishment and, iii) plan to implement specific actions in the short, medium and long term.

Several personalities will take part in the conference including Peru's Attorney General Pablo Sanchez, Education Minister Jaime Saavedra, Minas Buenaventura Peru CEO Roque Benavides and, Consultant David Fischman.

Likewise, the event will feature remarks by Ramiro Mendoza, who is also Chile’s former Comptroller General, University Law Faculty Dean Adolfo Ibañez, among other speakers from Spain, Switzerland, Argentina and Peru.

The forum takes place at the Universidad de Lima facilities and will be available via live streaming.
