President Humala travels to Asia for APEC summit

Peru’s President Ollanta Humala has traveled to the Kingdom of Thailand for paying an official visit and then heading to Indonesia to attend the 21st economic leaders' meeting of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum.
The head of State will take part of 21st APEC summit accompanied by Foreign Minister, Eda Rivas; and Foreign Trade and Tourism Minister, Magali Silva, the Peruvian Foreign Ministry announced Wednesday (MRE).

Saturday, October 5th

The official itinerary of the Peruvian leader kicks off with an official state visit to Thailand aimed at deepening the strategic association between the two countries and bolstering economic relations and cooperation in educational matters.

Thus, President Humala is scheduled to take part of a meeting on Academic Cooperation and Scholarships where it is expected the signing of cultural exchange agreements.

Later that day, the head of State will hold a bilateral meeting with Thailand's Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra to review core topics of the bilateral agenda. Following, Humala will have a royal meeting with Thai Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.

Next, Peru's President is set to head over the National Assembly of Thailand for meeting with Thai's leading investors and executives to address educational issues and professional training.

Sunday, October 6th

The president's state plane will land at neighboring Indonesia's Bali where he will attend this year's edition of the APEC CEO Summit, which will be held at Bali International Convention Center (BICC).

President Humala is scheduled to give a keynote speech " Why inclusive growth matters" while addressing the summit conversation on inclusive growth.

Following, the President will deliver remarks at the International Conference on Sustainable Development, organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of Indonesia and the United Nations Sustainable Development Solutions Network.

This forum will be held at Bali International Convention Center in Nusa Dua.

The President's agenda will end Sunday with a meeting with Singapore's Prime Minister, Lee Hsien Loong

Monday, October 7th

The Peruvian head of State is set to hold talks with his Chilean counterpart, Sebastian Piñera; and the leaders of the Chilean and Peruvian chapters of the two country's Business Council.

Finally, the gathering will be followed by the plenary session of the leaders meeting of the (APEC) summit.

As part of his three-day tour for Asia, the President will hold bilateral meetings with the leaders of South Korea, Park Guen Hye; Indonesia, Susilo Bambamg; and New Zealand, Jhon Key.
