President Humala to address the nation today

Peruvian President Ollanta Humala will deliver a message to the nation today, July 28th, and will lead official activities to mark the 194th anniversary of the independence of the Republic of Peru.

According to official schedule, both the President and his wife First Lady Nadine Heredia are scheduled to attend the Solemn Mass and Te Deum at Lima’s Cathedral at 8:30 (13:30 GMT) in the morning.

At 11:00 hrs, Mr. Humala will head to the Congress of the Republic to deliver his annual address to the nation and, after that, will return to the Government Palace, where be will be welcome by Beca 18 social program beneficiaries.

Afterwards, at 13:00, the Peruvian leader is due to host a special luncheon for public powers presidents, ministerial Cabinet members, as well as Congress’ Board of Directors and Board of Spokespersons.

In the afternoon, the Head of State and the First Lady will greet diplomatic corps and international organizations representatives at the Golden Hall of the Lima-based presidential palace.

Later, he will host a reception in honor of high-ranking authorities, and the aforementioned diplomatic corps and international organizations representatives. 

The next Day, on Wednesday 29th July, Mr. Humala will take part in the traditional Great Military Parade of Peru, to be held on Brasil Avenue in the presence of Power Branches presidents and civil and military authorities.
