Peruvian President Ollanta Humala has presided over the opening ceremony of the Huallapampa-Julcamarca-Secclla-Lircay road in the district of Lircay in Huancavelica region.
The 114.31 km route connecting the provinces of Angaraes and Huamanga (Ayacucho) will reduce travel time and provide users with a safer environment.
According to the press office of the Government Palace, the government invested a total of S/.45 million (about US$14.7 million) to benefit about 38,811 locals.
“It is worth mentioning that the maintenance contract is for a five year period,” reads the press release.
The Peruvian leader was joined by the Transport and Communications Minister Jose Gallardo and other local authorities.
