Peruvian President Ollanta Humala Tasso held a meeting with Secretary-General of the Spanish Socialist Workers’ Party (PSOE) Pedro Sanchez, who is currently on a trip to Latin America.
The gathering took place as part of a tour that is bringing the Spanish politician to Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Chile.
This was an opportunity to highlight the excellent level of bilateral relations and joint cooperation, especially in fields like education, science and culture.
The President’s Office Press Secretary pointed out the meeting addressed the strengthening of Peru-Spain dialogue forums and integration mechanisms such as the Ibero-American Summits.
The trip of Mr. Sanchez, presidential candidate to the Spanish Government, highlights the importance of Latin America for PSOE and its Secretary-General, according to a press release of the political party.
Sanchez will also meet the Spanish community and businessmen, as well as local entrepreneurs with investments in Spain.
