President Humala, Indonesia's counterpart meet at APEC

Peru's President Ollanta Humala held talks with his Indonesian counterpart Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono in the Indonesian resort island of Bali, on the sidelines of the 21st Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit.
The meeting was aimed at enhancing the bilateral relationship between both countries and strengthening the political and economic cooperation to allow establishing a Integral Preferential Association.

Both leaders agreed this mechanism will encourage the early start of negotiations for the signing of a trade agreement as well as the establishment of a joint agenda to increase bilateral trade in the medium rum.

At the gathering, the Peruvian leader and Indonesian head of State signed a Memorandum of Understanding on agricultural cooperation between the two Agriculture Ministries.

Likewise, the signing of a Cooperation Agreement between the two Foreign Ministries in respect of Treaties was also inked.

Moreover, they agreed on the need to define rapprochement policies in social and economic spheres, and to strengthen and expand cooperation in various areas.
