During his official visit to Thailand, on Oct. 5, the Peruvian leader held crucial talks with the highest authorities of the South east Asian country which concluded with the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) negotiations between both nations, raising their relations to a strategic partnership.

On the sidelines of the annual APEC forum, in Nusa Dua on the Indonesian resort island of Bali, President Humala was also part of top-level talks with the leaders of Indonesia, South Korea, Singapore, Mexico and New Zealand in an effort to strengthen ties with these Pacific Rim countries.

The Peruvian proposal to achieve inclusion for further growth stood out during the APEC Summit, as it was highlighted as a strategy which has allowed the Andean country to sustain its economic growth and perform important social changes.

Likewise, President Humala attended the gala dinner and cultural performance of the annual meeting hosted by Indonesian President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and posed with other APEC leaders for the official group photo.
