Peru's Foreign Trade and Tourism Ministry (Mincetur) projected there will 16 Peruvian restaurants in Portugal by the end of 2017.

The amount reflects the rise of the Inca nation's culinary offer in the European country.

In this context, Mincetur highlighted the progress, noting Portugal had merely housed one Peruvian eatery three years ago.

Restaurants in Portugal

Located in the Cascais area, Incanto Peruvian restaurant was inaugurated last May.

Inca cooks Diego Muñoz and Yuri Herrera —in partnership with one of Portugal's most recognized chefs Jose Avillez— will open La Cantina Peruana, an eatery to be based in Lisbon's historic center.

Lastly, Nikkei will open its doors in mid-July. The Peruvian-Japanese fusion restaurant will be located next to Belem Tower, one of the Portuguese capital's most important tourist attractions.
