Anti-drug police detained ten people and listed more than 100kg of cocaine seized in a drug bust conducted by Peru's Public Ministry in Santa Eulalia district, in the Lima province of Huarochiri.

After the police raid, Prosecutor Edward Diaz Tantalean proceeded to inspect the vehicles, one of which contained 102kg of drugs hidden inside.

Detentions were made on Sunday, when the criminals headed to Lima from Andean city of Ayacucho in two vans.

Six of the arrested were Joel Wilson Pariona Giron, Nelson Cardenas Giron, Ever Carhuapoma Pariona, Jesusa Giron Carhuapoma, Gerardo Pineda Canaquiri and Ronald Pariona Giron.

Later came the detention of other four in Arequipa and Lima. Their names are Willington Ruiz Vela, detained in Lima city's San Juan de Lurigancho district along with Jessica Rengifo Paredes, who had 8kg of the drug with her.

Uber Lamilla Morales was captured in the city of Arequipa, while Elita Jaramillo Brigida's arrest took place in Lima's Los Olivos district.

According to investigations, they are believed to be the leaders of a criminal gang that diverts drugs from the Valley of the Apurimac, Ene and Mantaro rivers (Vraem) to Lima, although the final destination would be Bolivia.

The raids were supported by Deputy Prosecutors Maria Arango, Emerson Bonifaz and Wilber Castillo.
