Peru’s Prime Minister, Ana Jara, recalled that President Ollanta Humala is who conducts foreign policy in the country and noted there is no room for political estimates regarding the espionage case in favor of Chile.

“Remember: The President of the Republic leads foreign policy and international relations (Article 118, Part 11 of the 1993 Constitution),” reads her post on Twitter.

On Thursday, Peruvian President Ollanta Humala pointed out the government’s position on the matter is unanimous as he ruled out an alleged disagreement with the Foreign Ministry, suggested by a local media newspaper.

The same position was adopted by the Foreign Ministry, which specified that “the government’s energetic reaction and actions respond to a clear and unanimous position of the State.”
