Pictures bring memories of past Valentine's Day celebrations in Lima

Celebrando Día de San Valentín decenas de décadas atrás en la playas al sur de Lima.

If we go back in time some 20, 30 or even 40 years, we will realize Valentine’s Day was already a special celebration among loving couples in Lima.

Taking a boat ride, walking in embrace, going to the beach in the afternoon, leaning on the bosom of your beloved were some of the common displays of affection on Valentine’s Day at the time.

In the past, people did not use social networks, so approaching their close friends was probably more tedious; however, the Peruvian capital back then was crowded with couples who did not hesitate to express their feelings among hugs, kisses and smiles.

Among other things, the pictures above show the attire and most visited places such as Campo de Marte, San Martin square, and beaches in southern Lima on February 14th.
