With a Catholic mass, a colorful parade and several musical performances, the Municipality of Lima and several artists paid a tribute to former Andean folk singer Maria Alvarado Trujillo, also known as “Pastorita Huaracina" on Sunday.
The ceremony was held to commemorate her passing away’s 14th anniversary.
The program started on Sunday noon, when an Andean-themed liturgical ceremony took place at the Lima downtown’s Santo Domingo Convent. Once the service concluded, attendees gathered at the Plazuela de Las Artes, in order to participate in the parade featuring music bands, singers and dancers.
This way, the Municipality of Lima Metropolitan Area and the national artists remembered the famous singer.
