Next January, for almost 30 days a delegation of 10 Peruvian young men and women will represent their country at the “Ship for World Youth Leaders”.
The international exchange program is organized and sponsored by the Japanese government.
On this occasion Peruvians will be joined by 214 other participants from Bahrain, Brazil, India, Japan, Kenya, New Zealand, Oman, Sri Lanka, Turkey and the UK.
On board activities include courses, workshops, seminars, sport-related and recreational activities as well.
Discussions aimed at promoting ideas exchange, boosting leadership and sponsoring intercultural understanding are also on the agenda.
Members from each attending country are required to give a presentation highlighting the best from their culture.
The program starts in Japan on January 21, 2015 upon delegations' arrival.
Attendees will also participate in protocol activities, such as: meetings Japan’s Crown Prince, Naruhito, and Prime Minister Shinzo Abe.
An exchange program with Japanese hosting families is also featured. On February 2 the ship is scheduled to sail for two weeks.
Finally, on February 13 Peruvian participants will return to their country accompanied by a delegation composed of 23 Japanese contemporaries, who will remain in Lima for a week.
