Peruvian Anson Tou was awarded the special mention of Entrepreneur of the Year 2017 by MIT Technology Review (Spanish edition).

MIT Technology Review, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's prestigious magazine, presented the 35 laureates of its first regional edition of the Innovators Under 35 Latin American competition during a ceremony held at University Panamericana in Mexico.

The oldest technological publication in the world recognized Anson Tou for Qempo —a web platform that connects Peruvian online buyers with travelers who visit the country to facilitate international purchases.

Young laureates presented their projects to 200 judges in the presence of more than 400 attendees, as well as business, science and technology experts.

Among them, five young innovators received special mentions as Inventor, Entrepreneur, Visionary, Humanitarian and Pioneer of the Year for being the most promising leaders in each of these categories.
