Development and Social Inclusion Minister Paola Bustamante met with Huancavelica teenager Andrea Milagros Davila, who will participate in activities to be held in New York City (US) within the framework of the United Nations 70th General Assembly.

Davila will be part of a delegation composed of 20 adolescents, who will express their main wishes and demands at General Assembly for the purpose of creating a better world. Remarks will be made in the framework of the new Sustainable Development Goals presentation.

Letters written by students attending the region's schools were submitted to the Development and Social Inclusion Minister.

Policy and Social Evaluation Deputy Minister Ariela Luna also participated in the meeting.

"Demands read in letters are addressed to our local and regional authorities with the aim of taking measures, which put an end to malnutrition and anemia, decrease infant mortality and ensure access to quality education," Davila told.

The student also highlighted the commitment to make Peruvian children's voice be heard by world’s leaders.

"Just like Midis cares for early childhood, we also want our authorities to do everything possible to prevent infant mortality," she noted.

According to minor -member of Huancavelica Boys, Girls and Teenagers Advisory Council- the region's inhabitants need higher access to water supply, a drainpipe and health services.

Andrea Davila’s choice to participate at 70th General Assembly of United Nations is comprised in EveryOne, a global campaign released by Save the Children Organization, which objective is to prevent infant mortality all around the world.
