Peruvian runner Rocio Cantara wins South American 21k Marathon in Uruguay

Long-distance runner Rocio Cantara has honored Peru by winning the South American Half Marathon Championship held in Montevideo (Uruguay) where she obtained the first place.

Cantara ruled the track with a time of 1:16:26. She was followed by Brazilian Adriana Aparecida da Silva (1:16:36) and Peruvian Nicolasa Condori (1:16:58).

It should be noted the fourth place was taken by another compatriot Peruvian Cynthia Paucar (1:18:36).

In the men's category, the national long-distance runner Miguel Mallma succeeded by reaching the second place.

This Half Marathon was carried out simultaneously with the second edition of Montevideo's Marathon. Both races gathered over 2,000 participants.
